To celebrate the release of 2014’s Space Hulk, and its arrival on my doorstep last weekend, we decided to share our favourite previous Space Marine Terminators, from various chapters. Read on for more.
This box arrived on my doorstep last weekend, and I’m looking forward to converting the excellent Blood Angels Terminators sculpts into a different chapter, either Ultramarines or perhaps something new. I’m always looking for an excuse to start a new army.
I thought I’d start the Terminator-fest off with sharing my Black Templars Terminators from a while back, converted from the Space Hulk set when it was released in 2009. The Dark Vengeance Deathwing Terminators were added at a later date, and converted appropriately.
These Terminators were created for use with the old Black Templars Codex, back when you could field two Assault Cannons in a squad of five Terminators, and give them Tank Hunters!
I also took a Terminator Command squad which could also take two Assault Cannons, with Tank Hunters naturally, but I had the added flexibility of having a Terminator Sergeant armed with a Power Sword. S8 AP2 is all well and good, but sometimes it’s nice to hit faster than I1 in Assault.
Lastly, I started making a squad of Assault Terminators, armed with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, but I only ever finished three of them. I decided that the middle chap was far too badass to hold a Storm Shield, and decided that ripping a Genestealer’s head off was far too. Rule of Cool > All.
The painting on these Terminators isn’t my finest hour, as they were rushed for a tournament. (Obviously I didn’t learn my lesson, as I was rushing my Elysians in the Paintathon recently!) They did the job, and will be heading to eBay soon with the rest of the Templars to create space and funds for future projects.
That’s all for now, stay tuned later this week for more Space Marine Terminators, ranging from Ultramarines, Imperial Fists and more!
